There is no denying that 2020 is a year we shall not forget in a hurry. The year we were all told to stay at home, not visit family and friends and oddly, not go into work! Life has returned to some sort of normality recently, as schools have returned for the new academic year and shops have reopened, however it is necessary to wear as mask now, basically all the time you are out in public. As we move quickly into the Winter months, with Christmas fast approaching, it may not feel like a time to celebrate festive cheer, but let’s have a look at how you survive a winter during lockdown and still have fun!
How To Survive A Winter During Lockdown
Have a Lockdown Office Christmas Party
The office Christmas party tends to be a highlight of the year, an excuse to let your hair down and finally smooch the office hunk. A 2020 Christmas party will look somewhat different to normal though! As pubs and restaurants now have to close at 10pm and gathering sizes restricted to only 6 people, with no table hopping allowed, celebrations maybe somewhat sober this year. However, with the rise of apps such as Zoom, there are many ways in which you can still party together, but not actually be in the same venue! You can still get dressed up in your finest, ensure you are stocked up on food and drink and have a Zoom Office Christmas Party, it will certainly be one to remember!
Hunker Down and Hibernate
The winter months are perfect for snuggling under blankets by a fire whilst sipping on mugs of hot chocolate, in some ways lockdown won’t seem as bad! However, it is important now to ensure that you prepare your home for winter now, so that your hibernation time is uninterrupted! Whether you are on the lookout for a plumber in Balham or in Bolton, they are more than ready for the Winter influx, however getting any pesky problems fixed sooner rather than later will make life easier!
Don’t Get Bored With Board Games
With darker nights setting in earlier, Winter is a great time to close the curtains earlier and settle in for the night. Keep family spirits high by playing board games and interacting with each other. Games guarantee laughter and are a great source of downtime from the craziness of life at the moment. I’ve always found that Home Bargains has a fantastic selection of reasonably priced family games if you need to stock up, or why not check out Big Potato games for something a little different!
However you choose to celebrate Christmas 2020, make sure it is filled with lots of laughter and cheer!
