If you are looking into what races to run in 2016, look no further than the Cancer Research UK Manchester Winter Run which is taking place on February 28th – what a great way to kick start the year in style!
The Manchester Winter Run 10k event taking place over Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on 28th February, invites runners to keep fit, raise money for Cancer Research UK and have some serious winter fun. Thousands of people have already committed to take part, with limited remaining places now on general sale.
On arrival, runners and spectators will be greeted by friendly snowmen equipped with jetpack snow machines blasting a snowfall over the event village for a special wintery welcome. Once the runners are in position, Nuffield Health will host a winter themed warm up to get the blood pumping and the muscles prepped, before a Snow Blast Off shooting clouds of CO2 gas into the air marks the start of the 2016 Cancer Research UK Winter Run.
On the 10k course, runners will see the city at its best on an awe inspiring route taking place on closed roads past the Etihad Stadium, with a welcome break of a ski themed drinks station for that all important boost. Participants will pass through a Giant Snow Zone on route, where they will be covered head to toe in snowflakes so even if it doesn’t actually snow this year the Cancer Research UK Manchester Winter Run will guarantee a winter wonderland.
On the way round the spectacular course runners can join in with the brand new Penguin Party. The fun loving penguins are the newest members of the team. They will encourage and motivate runners, with the Penguin Party also being the perfect spot for spectators to enjoy music and see their friends and family pass by. Key 103 Radio will be providing the music to help keep everybody moving.
