Celebrating Chinese New Year 2015 In Manchester

2015 celebrates the Year Of The Ram, so why not celebrate the Chinese New Year in style!

Between 19th February and 22nd February 2015, thousands are expected to descend upon Manchester, to be part of the huge party the city will host, with thousands of Chinese lanterns lighting up ChinaTown amongst other activities.

Activities will include: The Dragon Parade, fireworks, a food fair based in St Ann’s Square, a fairground, Chinese film and contemporary art, performances and light shows, special shopping events, music, martial arts and much more.

Cai Guo-Qiang’s installation ‘Unmanned Nature’ will be on display at the newly reopened Whitworth Art Gallery, there will be family craft events at Manchester Art Gallery, a special exhibition at the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art and many more themed events across city centre stores.

The celebrations will be a glorious affair, with something for all the family to get involved with. I am very much hoping myself and Mini Me will be able to visit and experience as much of Chinese New year 2015 as possible. Will you be attending?

Further details will be available at Chinese New Year 2015 in Manchester.

Can you believe I have NEVER been to the Chinese New Year celebrations. We’ve put it in the diary and will not miss it this year – thanks for posting it up 🙂

We did have this discussion earlier whilst wandering around Aldi, I have never been before either. But did get to see the lanterns the other day in St, Anne’s Square which looked stunning! 🙂 x
