So, with the unveiling of Day 1, I was rather excited to open door number 2 on my Ciate Mini Mani Month Advent Calendar.
Imagine my sheer delight when I found a rather delectable red ‘Boudoir’ staring back at me. Anyone who knows me is fully aware red nail polishes are my absolute favourite, so brazen and perfect to clash. Nails always look stunning when pampered with red.
My delight soon evaporated and was replaced with horror when faced with this… what on Earth is this shizzle? A wonky, donkey nail polish brush? I don’t think so! One was seriously not impressed but after taking off my previous colour decided to put the Boudoir mini to the test.
The brush was a huge epic fail and I was beside myself… what was a girl to do? Well, I raided my well stocked nail polish parlour (basically my fridge door!) and attempted to find an old nail polish I no longer cared for. Who am I kidding? That’s like saying choose your favourite child!!! I managed to locate an old, almost used clear nail varnish and proceeded to paint my nails with a brush that clearly wasn’t suited.
The clumping was a nightmare to contend with and I ended up using a helluva lot more of the polish than was necessary and I would have liked. Considering red is my favourite colour I am absolutely devastated!!
I was more pee’d off with the thought that the rest of the bottles could all have brushes like this. To say I have been sitting on the calendar for the best part of a month, waking up knowing I am a day closer to opening this fantastic advent calendar, the brush really has left a bitter taste in my mouth. As a single mum, the advent calendar was a special treat for me! 🙁
So far so good and Day 3 and 4 seem to be ok, but it’s not the point. Red is my favourite colour and now I am quite literally seeing red!!
