With the glorious weather we are having at the moment, our camping trip planning is coming along nicely! We have decided to go camping in the next couple of weeks and venture over to the Peak District. Such lovely countryside just on our doorstep, it will be a break from the norm and a wonderful ice-breaker into camping for Mini Me and myself.
The trip became even more awesome when we found out we would be putting a Tentipi to the test – something I am extremely excited about. They are absolutely awesome and extremely funky. The space they provide will mean a very comfortable first camping experience.
Products also under the test will be:
Sleeping Bags from Snugpak – ensuring we are lovely and cosy! Beth mentioned she has had her Snugpak sleeping bag for 20 years now and it has been well used, so that is always a good sign!
Top Trumps Cards from Dogs Trust – such cute and colourful cards. Top Trumps is a favourite in most households and the perfect game for passengers to play on long journeys or in the tent when everyone needs to take a breather.
Handy Baglights from Lexon. These funky little lights simply clip onto things with the use of magnets. Keep pressing the button for the LED light to illuminate the way. They are certainly already keeping the kids entertained!
Picnic crockery, Picnic basket and Games sets from Home Bargains. One of my favourite stores, you really do never know what you will find in there. They currently have an awesome camping section and we are going to be putting glasses, wine glasses, plates and cutlery (naturally!), a picnic basket and blanket plus bubbles and boom tennis sets to the test.
Baby Wipes and 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner from Johnsons. Where would we be without wipes? There are so many uses for them, I would be listing them all day. They will ensure mucky fingers are kept clean! The shampoo will also be handy… though having to pay for showers may be a slight bug bear considering I love to take very long showers!
A child’s hoodie from Craghoppers. Super lightweight and perfect for when the sun has disappeared or to use as a cover up in case of a heat wave. This will be easy to pack and will keep Mini Me lovely and warm.
Hand Sanitizer from Green People. One of my favourite organic skincare ranges. With 3 children and 2 dogs, this is going to be a necessity!
Cartons of Juice from The Little Crackers Drinks Company. Filled with natural goodness, it’s a miracle they have survived this long. Though keeping them away from little eyes has helped ensure we still have them to take on our camping trip!
Insect Repellent and Bamboo socks and a handy cutlery set from Aldi. Again, they have an awesome camping section at the moment, with lots of bits and bats at very reasonable prices. For a single mum who wants to make the camping trip the best it can be, it all makes a big difference!
I’ve recently been stocking up on what I consider to be good items for camping… foldable chairs, a bowl and erm… plastic wine glasses. Clearly THE most important item to take away, besides a bottle or two! As well as looking for a full time tent… unfortunately I do have to give the Tentipi tent back 🙁
There are so many tents to choose from and I am totally overwhelmed. Do I buy a tent just for Mini Me and myself now or do I buy a larger family tent with the intention of other people joining us in the future? However larger tents are surely harder to put up when on your own.
I wonder if it is possible to buy a tent, complete with an Adonis to put it up for me!!
